Hunter finds the exact location of network impairments. In order to achieve this,
the system must first be loaded with a database containing all the
system elements and electronic maps. As part of the pre-installation process,
Arcom Digital creates the database and node maps by using the customer's pre-existing
electronic maps. Arcom Digital assigns a parent/child relationship for each device,
and time distance information is then calculated. Maps are re-created and stored in
a data-efficient format that is suitable for easy porting to the Quiver Navigator
laptop or PDA. Arcom Digital has successfully performed this conversion on all major
CATV mapping system platforms.
A unique feature of the converted maps is that when they are displayed on the Quiver
Navigator, each node is shown as one map – the technician no longer has to look
at multiple pages or multiple files when troubleshooting a node. This is a great timesaver
that also minimizes mistakes.
