Quiver
Quiver
Quiver is the field unit used with the Hunter Platform. It is a field-ruggedized passive radar locator that tracks network impairments to within a few feet. At the core of Quiver is Xcor technology – operating without using any additional forward or return dedicated bandwidth. Quiver connects to various points within the network to determine the time distance to a CPD location. The high visibility color TFT display shows a graphical representation of the CPD characteristic, as well as a numerical time distance and measured distance to the CPD source. This numerical output is then entered into the Quiver Navigator software, which displays a system map and directs the user to the exact device that is the source of the problem.

Quiver can also operate in several other modes. The Headend mode allows the user to quickly and easily see exactly what is being displayed at the headend. This is convenient as a confirmation method to determine with certainty that a problem has been fixed. It also contains Spectrum Analyzer modes, i-Scout modes used to resolve i-Scout ID codes, and a Calibrate mode that allows the user to calibrate fiber nodes – a process that drastically increases the node scanning speed.

As standard equipment, Quiver comes with a real-time return path FFT spectrum analyzer. As an option, a real-time forward path FFT spectrum analyzer is also available. This added functionality allows the user to perform many tasks with just one meter.

Quiver is constructed from a heavy-duty, moisture-resistant sealed metal extrusion. It uses 4 AA NiMH rechargeable cells that can be charged in circuit with the provided AC adapter. The Quiver test probe (QTP) provides a convenient means to take measurements at locations that do not have forward and return test points.
